House hunting and an update

I forgot how much I didn't like house hunting! This weekend we tried to find a replacement house, but didn't have any luck.  At this point, I'm just trying to keep the faith that our builder will finish our home by August like they are telling us.  We signed a contract in October and we have nothing more than a poured foundation.  According to our original settlement date we were supposed to be moving in this week, but they have filed for bankruptcy.  I'm hoping they get back on their feet soon.

In baby news, I'm ten weeks today (so exciting!).  I don't go back to the doctor until next Wednesday.  I'm hoping to have dodged the m/s bullet.  The only thing I seem to have is extreme exhaustion.  I'm typically asleep by 9:00 p.m. and trying to drag myself out of bed before 7:30 a.m. is a struggle.  I usually get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and some nights it takes me a while to fall asleep.  I must admit, I'm going to take advantage of the naps and early nights while I can.

The pair of "fat pants" I bought when I found out we were expecting is getting tight.  I wore them yesterday and they were pretty uncomfortable.  Mr. W told me that I'm getting a "pregnancy belly." I think it's a little early, but I totally feel bloated.  I haven't worn anything other than wrap dresses or skirts with an elastic waist in about two weeks so I'm not sure what is happening.  Mr. W downloaded the "What to Expect When Your Expecting" app for his phone and it has you take photos each week.  It's cute to see him reading what's happening each week.

So, except for always being tired and the big honkin' zits pregnancy is going pretty well.  I can't believe we're a quarter way there! Three weeks and the first trimester is over. Yay! I'm ready to reach that milestone!   Although I'm beginning to feel more confident each day.

I'm going to try to update more.  It's been an awkward transition to take the blog from IF to pregnancy, especially when I still feel so guilty that there are so many deserving women that haven't gotten their BFPs yet.

  1. I hope that you really have dodged the m/s bullet! That would be a great thing. Definitely take advantage of the sleep while you can. :)

Can't wait to see some belly pics! :)

  2. Woo hoo! I can't believe you are almost out of the first tri. It's crazy how fast time goes. Take advantage of as much sleep as you can get. You won't be getting any in another 7 months. :) And I'm with Rebecca: we want to see pictures of the bump!

  4. I had that extreme fatigue too *UGH* Good news is that it went away around 11-12 weeks so hopefully you don't have much more to endure =) You might also ask your doc to do an iron check, I was already low at the end of 1T and it makes you tired too but the supplements helped me feel better.

Don't worry about moving into maternity pants. I was fully in them by 14-15 weeks and was one of the last of my group of IVF buddies. Go get yourself some stretchy pants, it's worth the comfort =)
