Appointments, Appointments and more Appointments

Where has the time gone? I feel like I have been distancing myself from anything IF related right now with the final two IUIs looming and I'm so nervous that we won't be successful. So, I took a little time off and decided to focus on my health.

My first stop was the family doctor for a check up. Things are pretty good. My BP was a little high, but I'm working on dropping some pounds to get this in check. I'm down 14.5. This puts me about 8 pounds higher than I was when I conceived B&G. This is my goal weight before next IUI. I'm hoping it increases our chances.

Second stop was dermatologist. I was a water baby before sunscreen was the thing to wear. I feel like I've had a million sunburns. I had one mole removed, but the doctor thought it was harmless.

Third stop was an ultrasound of my thyroid. The doctor thought he felt a nodule. I had an ultrasound yesterday and I'm waiting for the results. Hopefully I'll get them today.

Last stop is a colonoscopy. My father is 55 with Stage 4 colon cancer so I knew I needed to get this checked. I have it next Thursday and I'm mostly nervous about the liquid diet and the 300 pounds of laxatives I have to take. I'm just praying that there isn't anything in there.

So, after all of this is done we will proceed with our next IUI. I'm just wrapping up AF so I have about three more weeks before the cycle starts. So, for now I'm just going to concentrate on being healthy. Maybe after all of this we'll get to make another baby!

  3. Yikes, you're busy, lady!!! I've had melanoma and get regular skin checks. And in October I had my first colonoscopy...bleh! The MooviePrep (sp?) was really hard to drink down in the hour but I did it. And you can too. Hoping everything comes back clear!
