Babies W are Here!

The boys are here! Friday night Mr. W. and I went out to dinner.  By the time we were done I was exhausted and went to bed around 9:00.  Around 11:30 that night I had to go to the bathroom and was completely trying to avoid getting out of bed. I finally dragged myself out and went to the bathroom.  I started to go and then had a major BH contraction and felt like I kept going.  About the third time this happened I though I was done and then when I stood up there was a major woosh.  I then knew exactly what had happened.  I called for the Mr. and we were off to the hospital.  Note: your water does not break at all like it does in the movies.  It just keeps coming and coming and coming.

We arrived at the hospital around midnight and I was in our room around 1:00 a.m.  Eventually they moved me to the area where I would be delivering and then started the pitocin.  I got an epidural around 4 cm because they thought it might help bring my blood pressure down.  My parents arrived around 6:00 a.m. and we all hung out together. I was in quite a bit of pain later that night, but not even 5 cm, and I ended up needing a second epidural since the other one had slipped out. Finally around 11:00 p.m. (almost 24 hours later) it was time to push.  I pushed for almost three hours with no progress and ended up needed a c-section.  So, I ended up with my third epidural (at least they didn't put me under).   At 2:54 and 2:57 the boys were born.  Hearing them cry was music to my ears!

Daddy got to feed them their first bottles and I tried to watch, but I was exhausted after the labor process.  The magnesium for my high bp and the pushing had kicked my butt.  I tried to watch them as much as I could, but I ended up falling asleep as the put me back together.  I was a little freaked out by the pressure that I could feel so I think it was for the best.  The boys, dad and I left the OR around 5 a.m.  My parents were still there and so excited to see their first grandchildren.

Sunday was a bit of a whirlwind.  I think I was still pretty wiped out and the day is such a blur.  I was unable to get out of bed because of I was still on the magnesium and I was hooked up to an IV, blood pressure monitor and these leg cuffs to avoid blood clots.  I was finally transferred this morning around 6:00 a.m. and got to take a shower, spend the day with the boys, etc.  Mr. W is going to work a half day tomorrow just to get caught up at work before spending the time off with us so I'm all alone tonight and took the boys to the nursery because I can't get in and out of bed easily yet.  A few tears may have been shed, but I know they are in good hands.  I didn't think I could fall in love so fast.

I'm trying to breast feed.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get the hang of it with twins soon!

Here are a few pictures of the boys!
