Staying at Home and Santa

So the call with my job didn't go quite as I had expected.  As you may recall, I sent an email the other week requesting to come back part-time.  I had a conference call with HR and my supervisor on Monday and was told my job was full-time (not a surprise) and that they wanted me to send in a letter of resignation (surprise!). I was too shocked to respond and just sort of said okay and hung up.  I had thought that I would still have the option to come back full-time even though I'm not sure I would have taken it.  I'm going to stay at home for now and try to find something part-time (fingers crossed!). This job required quite a bit of travel and I really wouldn't have been able to take so many trips with the boys so it's for the best.

On Tuesday, the boys went to see Santa. B slept and G made his Elvis lip:

After the photo we had their two-month checkup.  The weigh in at 10 pounds 13 ounces and 10 pounds 14 ounces.  And they totally hated their shots, but recovered pretty quickly.  I'm still getting some good nights and some not great nights, but usually get at least a 5 - 6 hour stretch.  I can't believe we'll be trying solids in just a few months. It's so bittersweet.

Now we're at my parent's house for the holiday and they are obsessed with the ceiling fan and the tree lights.  I love how entertained they are by the smallest things.  I think I'll miss that someday.

Thinking of all of you and hope to be back to commenting soon.  I've had company for a week and now I'm out of town so I don't have too much time to catch up!

  1. I am sorry your call with work did not go as you hoped/expected! I am very jealous you will be staying home! I am glad everything is going well. My little guy just had his two month appt too - seeing him get the shots was not fun! That is great your little guys sleep 5-6 hour stretches!

Such a cute picture with Santa!

  2. That really sucks about work. But, I hope that staying home completely works out and that you find something part time when the time is right.

That picture is just about too adorable! :)

  3. It sounds like you don't want the full time option but legally your jobi s required to make it available if you want it.

They boys were so cute with santa! I know what you mean about it being bittersweet as you look to new stages. I'm trying to soak up each and every part of this wild ride =)
